DUTIES OF THE SECRETARY OF
THE LIBRARY FACULTY ASSEMBLY
The Secretary of the Library Faculty Assembly shall:
II. H.1.
Serve on the Executive Committee of the LFA.
II. H.2. Take
and distribute minutes of all meetings of the Library Faculty Assembly, the
Executive Committee, and the general Library Faculty.
II. H.3. Call
a meeting of the Library Faculty on petition of ten percent of the voting
members of the Library Faculty.
II. H.4. Call
a meeting of the Library Faculty on petition of five members of the LFA, or
when so requested by the Dean or an Associate Dean.
II. H.5.
Announce all meetings of the Library Faculty, the Library Faculty
Assembly, or the Executive Committee, at least one week in advance, except in
emergencies.
II. H.6. Announce
all cancellations of meetings of the Library Faculty, the Library Faculty
Assembly, or the Executive Committee.
II. H.7.
Distribute an agenda for each meeting.
II. H.8.
Reserve a room for such a meeting.
II. H.9. Maintain copies of approved minutes and
other related documents and deposit paper copies with University Archives at
the end of the fiscal year.
II. H.10.
Prepare and distribute ballots to all library faculty members within two
weeks after any general library faculty meeting or Library Faculty Assembly
meeting in which legislative proposals were introduced.
II. H.11.
Prepare and distribute ballots to all library faculty members upon
request of two-thirds of the Library Faculty present and voting.
II. H.12.
Distribute a list of all eligible faculty members one month before
Library Faculty elections and maintain a list of those declining to run.
II. H.13.
Prepare and distribute to all library faculty members any ballots
required to break tie votes in earlier elections.
II. H.14. Present,
within ten days of distribution, all returned ballots (elections, legislative
proposals, tie-breakers, etc.) to the Executive Committee for counting.
II. H.15.
Prepare and distribute any information, survey forms, etc. emanating
from the Library Faculty Assembly.
II. H.16.
Prepare correspondence emanating from the Library Faculty Assembly.
