I. Call to Order
2006-07 Chair R. McGiverin called the meeting to order at 2:33 p.m.
II. Election of Library Faculty Assembly Chair
B. Hine moved, and V. Muyumba seconded, the nomination of R. McGiverin as chair. R. McGiverin was elected by acclamation.
III. Election of Library Faculty Assembly Vice Chair
V. Muyumba moved, and K. Gaul seconded, the nomination of S. Arvin as Vice Chair. S. Arvin was elected by acclamation.
IV. Election of Library Faculty Assembly Secretary
R. McGiverin moved, and E. Lorenzen seconded, the nomination of B. Hine as Secretary. B. Hine was elected by acclamation.
V. Election of Library Faculty Assembly Parliamentarian
S. Hardin moved, and B. Hine seconded, the nomination of S. Hardin as Parliamentarian. S. Hardin was elected by acclamation.
VI. Other business
A. R. McGiverin will try to schedule regular LFA meetings. He asked everyone to bring their GroupWise calendars up to date.
B. R. McGiverin said the new Assembly will need to address the issues surrounding e-meetings and e-voting. The current Bylaws do not cover these possibilities.
C. B. Hine described the functions of the Library Faculty Affairs Committee, the Library Administrative Affairs Committee and the Library Executive Committee. R. McGiverin described the rights of voice and vote at LFA meetings. K. Gaul described the role of support staff representatives and ex-officio members.
D. R. McGiverin said the new LEC will plan to have a session describing faculty governance.
E. Lorenzen moved, and S. Frey seconded, adjournment. The meeting was adjourned at 3:03 p.m.
