Rules and Regulations for Graduate Carrel Users
Rules and Guidelines agreed to when Graduate Carrel form is signed:
¨ All library rules concerning check-out, renewals, returns, due dates, fees/fines, etc. apply even if items are in your graduate carrel
¨ Any library items in your graduate carrel must be checked out and have a green slip placed in the item in such a way it shows at a glance that it has been checked out
¨ Keep graduate carrel locked at all times
¨ Keep door, walls and ceiling uncovered
¨ Food or drink left open in carrel will be removed
¨ Do not loan carrel key to anyone
¨ Fee for a lost key replacement will be charged: replacement key $5.00 and processing fee of $8.00. Money must be paid at Controllers Office and a receipt be presented to the Graduate Carrel Supervisor before another key can me ordered
¨ Circulation staff will enter and check graduate carrels monthly
¨ Unless Faculty gives a shorter time period the carrel will go to overdue 1 week before the end of the semester date given by the Department Head and to billed status on the last day of that semester
¨ If you receive an overdue notice you must either turn in your key or bring a new application signed by your department head. Use the online application for renewals as well as the initial check-out
¨ If the carrel goes to billed status your library items in the carrel with be discharged and re-circulated and your personal items sent to Public Safety within one week of the fine and fee notice
¨ Library is not responsible for valuables left in your carrel
¨ Library is not responsible for library materials checked out to you that are left in your carrel
Problems with the use of your carrel should be reported to the Circulation Desk
