Conditions Governing Access note

Materials are open for research use with advance notice to the archivist.

Processing Information note

Little sense of original order remained by the time Professor Matthews' materials reached the University Archives. Though some material suggests that Professor Matthews maintained an arrangement scheme of his own design, such documentation was incomplete and it was therefore decided to arrange files alphabetically.

Dr. Matthews' handwriting was quite illegible. Therefore, handwritten notes and commentary were removed from the files, as were random clippings and miscellany.
