Reference and Instruction Unit Well Represented at 2014 Indiana Library Federation Annual Meeting
Four members of the Reference and Instruction Unit have had proposals accepted for the 2014 annual meeting of the Indiana Library Federation.
Karen Evans will be making a presentation entitled “Combat to Classroom: How Librarians Can Help Veterans Succeed in Their Education.” Her presentation will discuss the record number of veterans enrolling in higher education, the specific issues they face, and how librarians can assist them in achieving their education.
Shelley Arvin, Elizabeth Lorenzen, and Heather Rayl will also be presenting on a project they had funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services Technology Grant that discusses how iPads can be used to teach undergraduates the basic tenets of ACRL’s Information Literacy Standards.
Brian Bunnett will be moderating a panel discussion on how various Indiana libraries have combined their service desks. Panel members include librarians from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, Butler University, and IUPUI.
