Research Guides / HelpThe Reference/Instruction Department develops print and online guides for a variety of courses. Print versions of selected items listed below are available from the library's information rack on the first floor. Reference/Instruction Department The Reference/Instruction Department is responsive to the information and instructional needs of the ISU community. It provides assistance to faculty, staff and students as they use library materials in pursuit of research and curriculum related information needs. Library Tutorials The ISU Library is creating a series of tutorials designed to assist students in the library research process. Check out what we have so far. Find A Librarian Contact information for librarians assigned to particular academic departments. These library liaisons are a one stop source for each department, with services including instruction, reference, and collection development. Assignment Calculator The Assignment Calculator takes you step-by-step through the library research process by calculating target dates and providing links to useful research and writing resources. Citation 9 Citation is a powerful textual database manager that allows you to organize notes and document sources for your research papers. It is available throughout the library on all public access computers. Citation can also be downloaded by all ISU faculty, staff and students for use on their own home or campus computers. Ask a Librarian Chat Chat with a reference librarian during library hours. Ask a Librarian E-mail Email us using our Ask a Librarian Service. You can expect to receive a response within 24 hours, Monday to Friday, excluding holidays. Internet Search Tools Links to popular and academic search engines, plus other useful information on searching the Internet. Printing Instructions Instructions on how to print in the ISU Library. Off-Campus Access Detailed instructions on accessing library databases outside the ISU campus. Library Bookmarklets Bookmarklets are bookmarks that include added JavaScript, which allows them to perform specific functions in addition to linking to a particular website. The bookmarklets listed on this page will allow you to search ISU Library resources in various ways.
