Terre Haute Ind. Sunday May 8th 1881
The meeting was called to order at 4 OClock P.M.
Worthy Grand Instructor Stevens occupied the chair throughout the meeting. The roll was then called after which the minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved. Frank Brokaw applied for membership and Brothers James Dodson, Bernard Mullen and Ernest Sherburne were appointed as a Committee to investigate the character of the applicant.
On motion of Brother Debs a committee of three consisting of Brothers Raidy, Patrick Cronin & Debs was appointed to have a chart inscribed and framed and presented to W. R. Mc Keen Esq. President of the Vandalia Line, on behalf of the Lodge.
Messrs. Maucourt and Parley Snider, two expelled members, made application through Brother Debs for reinstatement. Brother Debs moved that they be reinstated on a basis of $500 each provided the said $500 were paid within thirty days from date.
The motion was carried and Brother E. M. Sherburne, the Financial Secretary was appointed to collect the said monies and report his action back to the Lodge.
Worthy Grand Instructor Stevens then instructed the members thoroughly in the secret work of the Order after which he spoke long and earnestly in regard to the Magazine urging each member to take hold of the book and aid in securing a large subscription for Vigo Lodge No 16.
The meeting then adjourned.
