Terre Haute Ind. Sunday Sept 24th 1882


The meeting was called to order at the usual hour.

Instructor S. M. Stevens was called to the chair and presided over the meeting.

The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.


Propositions for Membership

The following propositions for membership were read :

	Perry A. Kellogg   recommended	by   P. H. Stuart
	E. C. Miller          "		"    J. Southard
	F. Crookshank	      "         "    H. Larr

The following applications were referred to a Committee consisting of J. Benz, Chas. Scott and Wm E. Davis.


Reports of Committees

The committee to when had been referred the application of Frank Baker submitted a favorable report.

The report was received and the Committee discharged.


Balloting for Candidates

Frank Baker was balloted for and duly elected to become a member.


Admission of Candidates

Arthur J. Kraft and James Leek were admitted to full membership in the Order.


Bills for allowance

The following bills were allowed :

Schiller Lodge No 4 A.O.U.W for rent to Oct. 1/82 -- $600


H. F. Schmidt & Co -- 1 pair vases --- for Grand Master Arnold's wife -- $850


Robert Ebbage for service as delegate to 9th Annual Convention -- five days @ $5 00 per day -- $25.00


New Business

Brother Debs stated that the Lodge had been presented with a pair of beautiful banners by Miss Jeffers. He therefore moved that a Committee of three be appointed to receive them in an appropriate manner and pass resolution of thanks. The Motion was carried and a Committee consisting of Brothers E. V. Debs Robt Ebbage and F. H. Mullen was appointed for that purpose



Motion the Financier was directed to purchase a dish for his books and papers.


On motion it was addressed that on and after October 1st the Financier of Vigo Lodge should receive, in addition to his dues and assessments, the sum of Twenty Five Dollars for his services the Financier to deduct each amount from the funds of the Lodge each month.

It was reported that Brother Harry Baugh who had been granted a traveling card, had been dismissed from the Vandalia Company for drunkenness.

On motion a committee consisting of Brothers Lantz, Ebbage and Scott was appointed to investigate the nature of the charge and report at the next regular meeting.


Brother Lantz preferred charges against Brother Alonzo Hunt for drunkenness on the 22d last.

A committee consisting of Brothers Southard, Davidson, F. H. Mullen, E. A. Stevens and

Wm Davis was appointed to try the accused.


The meeting then adjourned.
