LIBRARY RECIPROCAL BORROWING AGREEMENTS

for ISU FACULTY & STAFF

Two library reciprocal borrowing agreements offer extended borrowing privileges to faculty and staff in support of research and scholarship. Both agreements will facilitate the use of other libraries by visiting faculty and staff. Borrowed material may be referred to ISU's Check-Out Desk. A "book return" form must be completed for each item returned.

The first agreement is among the ISU Library, Rose-Hulman Logan Library, St. Mary-of-the-Woods Library , Vincennes University and the University of Southern Indiana. Most library materials may be borrowed directly from any of the three libraries by any visiting faculty or staff for a period of 100 days. Items may also be renewed. A current ID is required. Faculty and staff are able to use LUIS to locate items in any of the first three libraries. Access the Vincennes Library catalog and USI catalog separately.

The second agreement is among the libraries at ISU, Indiana University (main online catalog; IUPUI online catalog), Ball State University, Purdue University, and the University of Notre Dame. Under this agreement, many library materials may be borrowed directly for an extended period of time (determined by each individual library). Only full-time ISU faculty are eligible under this agreement. Faculty wishing to visit the other libraries and take advantage of extended borrowing privileges must come to the ISU Library Administrative Office to receive a special borrower's card and a copy of the libraries' borrowing policies. Cards may be picked up between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The free card is valid for one year.

OCLC Reciprocal Faculty Borrowing Program

Over 150 universities participate in OCLC's program. Borrowing privileges are determined by each institution. Faculty members are encouraged to check the policies of individual libraries by referring to that institution's web page. Cards may be obtained at the Library Administrative Office. The card is valid for one year.
