Refining Your Search

CINAHL automatically searches the article title, the abstract, and the subject terms for the search term you enter.

To find more citations and try to ensure that you're not missing any results, EXPAND the search.

At other times you may have a very specific reference or topic in mind or just want to find a few good citations.  To do this, you can LIMIT the search.  If it is not done carefully, you may eliminate some valuable sources from your list of results.

The EXPAND and LIMIT options can be used with a search that you have already started, or you can choose them when you first start a search.
Ask for help if you would like to find out more ways to refine your searches.
