Format/Structure: Non-scholarly Articles

Scholarly articles are the only type of article to follow such a rigid structure or format. Trade articles occasionally have an abstract. Bibliographies and references generally do not appear in trade publications.

Popular, Substantive News/General Interest, and Sensational articles do not have a specific format. These articles do not contain an abstract; nor do they have any type of bibliography or references.
