Indexes & Abstracts (Databases)

What are indexes and abstracts?

An index helps you to find articles in journals, magazines, and newspapers. Indexing companies search journals, magazines, and newspapers and record the names of articles, where to find the articles, and the subjects the articles cover.

Indexes used to be published in print; however, today most are published electronically in databases, which have greater search capabilities. For convenience, ISU simply groups these electronic indexes under the heading "Databases".
