If you search Science Citation Index Expanded for a work written by Einstein in 1940, you will retrieve this list.

Results for Einstein Search

Einstein's 1940 article that appeared in volume 41 of Annals of Mathematics was cited 80 times. But if you try to retrieve these 80 articles, you will only retrieve 13 of the 80. Why?

Because ISU's subscription to Web of Science only goes back to 1984, you will not be able to retrieve the remaining 67 articles. You must search for them in the old print editions of Science Citation Index. ISU's print issues of Science Citation Index cover 1961-1983.
